Gaye Davis discovered her love for violin at the age of 5, when she started lessons with Arthur Thal of Bellingham. She received a BA in Music at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI where she studied with Yosef Yancelev, Michael Antonello, and Curtis MacComber. In addition to maintaining a busy violin & viola studio for 25 years, Davis is the associate concertmaster of Whatcom Symphony Orchestra, plays with the Whatcom Chamber Orchestra, the Harberton String Quartet and the Noel Harp Ensemble, and freelances… in her spare time. She is a founding and current member of the 'Claire de Lune' Lynden Music Festival Committee and a member of the Washington State Music Teachers Association and Music Teachers National Association. Gaye lives in Lynden with her beautiful family and an ever growing number of pets. Gaye has recently moved her studio upstairs in the Dutch Village Mall in a space being shared with the office of another of her great loves - the Lynden Music Festival. She finds it very exciting to be in the midst of the renewed life being brought to the Dutch Village Mall. She believes it is a privilege to be able to work with students from ages 5 to 75 and pure joy to be able to make music for a living and to offer it back to the Creator of all. Soli deo gloria!
